In this course, students will learn:
Numbers & Arithmetic
- Whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Recognizing and understanding patterns
Imperial Units
- Inches, feet, and yards — unit conversions
- Converting fractional inches to decimals
- Understanding percentages
- Converting between fractions, decimals, and percentages
2D Geometry
- Types of angles (acute, obtuse, right)
- Polygons and calculating perimeters
- Radius, diameter, and circumference of circles
- Properties of squares, rectangles, triangles, and parallelograms
- Calculating area using formulas
- Pythagorean theorem
Volume Calculations
- Measuring volume in cubic units
- Calculating cubic feet and cubic yards
- Understanding cylinders
- Calculating volume of various shapes
